Our whole emphasis is on providing individual care and attention to your dog’s requirements during their stay. Our trainers aim is to make it a constructive and fun experience for your dog. We use positive reinforcement techniques but without using food as the reward. During your dogs stay the following topics will be covered as standard. Sit to have a lead put on and leave the house without any fuss Walk calmly on a lead Play biting, Separation Anxiety Sit, Lie, Stay and Come Automatic Sit, Lie at a distance Stop jumping on people and furniture Socialisation with other dogs and people If there is anything else that you specifically want your dog or puppy to learn, let us know and we will see if it can be accommodated during their stay with us. We are happy to discuss ANY residential training or behaviour requirements you may have. We also provide One to One Dog & Puppy training sessions with a trainer in your own home.

Hollybarn Dog and Puppy Training are pleased to offer a much more personal approach to kennels and boarding for your dog or puppy. Instead of your dog or puppy being boarded in a traditional kennel and boarding environment. While you are away enjoying your holiday or short break, your dog or puppy will come and live with Dog Trainer and qualified Veterinary Nurse Emma Whelan in her own home in rural Co Mayo and have a holiday all of their own. Your dog or puppy will become part of our family for their holiday stay with us and will be given all the comforts they get at home. Because we only take one dog or puppy for home kennelling or boarding at a time your dog gets all the care and attention during their holiday stay with us they get at home. Don't worry if you have a multidog household and would like residential kennelling and boarding for them all as we will take more than one dog from one household so you don't have to break up the family.
